In 1954 the Minerva factory in Mortsel, close to Antwerp, was running at full capacity. With financial aid of the Belgian army, the company had invested in a brand new assembly line and the factory was one of the most modern assembly plants at that time in Belgium.
A short documentary was made on 16mm showing the construction process of the Belgian Minerva 4×4, build under license from Land Rover. A lot of items were made locally such as the chassis, bulkhead & bodywork. Land Rover supplied CKD (Knocked Down Kits) from Solihull that included engine, gearbox, axles and a lot of smaller parts.
